Message Hi Justin,

I looked at the loading code, and realized I'd shut off most of the
messages. I put them back in and reworked them a bit. I posted version
3.1.3 which has the better messages. It should give you enough to find
the problem pretty quickly.

Message Dale,
I got 3.1.2 this morning. I loaded one of my project build scripts just
fine, and everything seems to work great. Attempting to load the other
project's build script gives me the same behavior that I wrote about
last week, namely, nothing happens. I guess there is a parse error
somewhere, but Antelope doesn't seem to report it anywhere. What is the
easiest way for me to enable debugging when parsing buildfiles? FWIW,
this same build script choked Antfarm when I was using jEdit 4.1.

Message The NPE was pretty easy to fix, but the point of the original email was
that once I got that fixed, Antelope initializes fine but fails to do
anything at all when I try to load a build file. Right now, if I start
the plugin and attempt to do File->Open and choose my ant build file,
Antelope does nothing. No error messages in either the terminal I
launched jEdit from or the Console plugin's Antelope pane. It gives no
indication that it got my command at all. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my
original message. Any ideas what might be going wrong here?
Thanks again

Message I think you must have downloaded AntelopePlugin_3.1.1.zip, which
contains Antelope.jar The naming for the plugin is the standard for
jEdit. The jEdit developers have standardized on just the name of the
plugin without the "Plugin" word or version numbers attached, so
Antelope.jar fits the standard. Anyway, I'm glad that it worked out for
you. I think I need to look a little further into the null pointer
exception.

Thanks,

Dale

Message Hi Dale,
I'm using 3.1.1, I grabbed it from antelope.tigris.org this morning.
I'm using ant 1.6.1 as well.

The NPE went away when I built from source 3.1.1. The 3.1.1 binary had
the NPE (wierd). The binary 3.1.1 was named AntelopePlugin.jar, while
the build script generated an Antelope.jar only, not sure if the jar
name has anything to do with it.

Thanks for your help
Justin

Message Hi Justin,

Which version of Antelope do you have? There was a problem with the
3.1.0 version that caused a NPE on a new install that was (supposedly)
fixed in the 3.1.1 release. I've also received a couple of reports
recently that backward compatibility with Ant 1.5.x is broke. Ant 1.6.x
works well.

Dale

Message Hi,
I just came across Antelope when upgrading to jEdit 4.2pre11. I got the
plugin binary from the tigris.org site, but that version caused a
NullPointerException when I tried to launch the plugin from within
jEdit. So I downloaded the source, added a few debugging statements,
and rebuilt/reinstalled it, and it launched. However, now when I try to
open a build file, Antelope does nothing. No error messages or anything
that I can see. The only button that is enabled is what looks to be a
Reload button, as well as the "Show Attributes" checkbox.

I'd love to get this working, but since I have no indication of what is
going wrong due to the lack of output when opening a file, I'm not sure
where to look next. Any guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Justin
